About

Built from the inside
of AI systems.

The gap in AI isn’t access to tools. It’s understanding what happens in between.

A letter from me

Why I built this course.

I trained, taught, patented and optimized neural networks before it was cool.

Fifteen years of it, across the whole stack: frontend, backend, data engineering, data science, low-level systems. Three patents. A startup acquired for its core team. Teams of data analysts, engineers and scientists.

I have seen engineering from every side. And the same thing kept happening: strong engineers using AI every day, and still guessing — not because they couldn’t understand it, but because nobody ever showed them the layer beneath the interface.

So that’s what you get here. You’ll look at any AI product and explain how it actually works. You’ll know why it hallucinated, whether you need retrieval or fine-tuning, what belongs in a prompt and what belongs in code.

I won’t teach you prompts. Prompts expire. I’ll teach you the system underneath, and that doesn’t.

Come build the understanding that outlasts the tools.

Why ExplAIn

Everyone uses AI.
Few can explain it.

Teams ship AI features, then find nobody can say why the system behaved that way.

01

Depth without the math lecture

Enough mechanism to explain real behavior.

02

Decisions, not demos

What to verify, retrieve or automate.

03

Knowledge that outlasts tools

Vendors change. Mechanisms don’t.

Owning it means knowing what the model does, what the system does, and which one to fix.

The ExplAIn promise

How I teach

Four principles behind every module.

One idea per module

A mental model, not a feature tour.

Show the system

Diagrams, so the parts stay nameable.

End with a decision

Exercises that force a trade-off.

Stay tool-agnostic

Nothing tied to one vendor.
